ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory Readiness Assessment

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 specifies general requirements for the competence, impartiality, and consistent operation of testing and calibration laboratories.

It addresses both management-system controls and technical competence, including personnel, facilities, equipment, metrological traceability, method validation, sampling, result reporting, and assurance of result validity.

• Environmental, chemical, mechanical, electrical, and materials laboratories
• Organizations expanding an existing accredited laboratory scope

• Personnel competence, facilities, environmental conditions, and equipment
• Metrological traceability, externally provided services, and reference materials
• Method selection, verification, validation, sampling, and uncertainty
• Technical records, reporting, complaints, nonconforming work, and improvement

ISO/IEC 17025 recognition is provided through accreditation by a qualified accreditation body. AmericanQMS provides an independent readiness assessment and issues a Readiness Assessment Report identifying the assessed scope and preparation status. The report is not an accreditation certificate and does not authorize an accreditation claim.
